Honorary Life Membership

Anyone can make a nomination for Honorary Life Membership Award.  The winner is not announced until the annual Business Meeting to be held during the FLANC Conference.  This award honors FLANC members who have made significant contributions to FLANC and the Foreign Language community.  Service to FLANC would include such activities as the following:

•     Serving as an officer, member of the Advisory Board or Ad Hoc committee

•     Presiding and/ or presenting at FLANC conferences

•     Sponsoring new memberships

•     Helping with conference arrangements, e.g. providing equipment, etc.

•     Actively supporting FLANC activities and initiatives

Contributions to the language teaching profession might involve such activities as the following:

•   Providing leadership in one's school, community, state, or region

•    Serving on committees, e.g. DPI committees and commissions

•    Creating new programs, e.g. language weekends, clubs, camps, trips, or workshops to promote foreign languages

•   Being recognized for outstanding teaching
