· Do a presentation with your second language students during a PTA meeting

· Start a one day school-wide celebration i.e. Year of the Languages, Foreign Language
Week and send the information to the local news media for coverage.
· Display students work in a visible bulletin board in the school’s hallway.
· Get parents involve in specific language projects.
· Keep parents informed in a timely way of your program and what students are learning.
· Look
for local opportunities such as art contests, festivals, to involve
your students and then send the information to your local newspaper.
· Submit
and an editorial on the value of knowing/learning a second language
written by you or your students and send to the local newspaper.
· Young students can make colorful place mats with labels in the second language. These can be sent as a gift to a local center for the elderly or community soup kitchen.
· Invite speakers from the community who will help promote the need for knowing a second language.
· Start a once-a-month Second Language Club after school for FLES students.
