The Jane Mitchell-Manolita Buck scholarship is awarded annually to a college student in his/her final year of undergraduate study, who has expressed a commitment to teach a foreign language in North Carolina. This scholarship is open to all second language students in a North Carolina institution of higher learning.  Applications are due in March.

Honorary Life Memberships are awarded to members who have made significant contributions to FLANC and to the language teaching profession. Those considered for the award must have been FLANC members for a minimum of five years. Any FLANC member may make nominations. In addition to the letter of recommendation, there should be a second letter of support from a colleague, principal, or administrator attesting to the nominee's contributions to language teaching and culture.

Finally, the Initially Licensed Teacher Scholarship (ILT) allows FLANC to reduce the cost of attending the Annual Conference to $50 for all Initially Licensed Teachers in their first year of teaching a world language in North Carolina!  In addtion, 10 ILTs will be chosen to attend the annual FLANC conference at no charge, including the opportunity to attend pre-conference workshops.
