South Academy of International Languages Principal
South Academy of International Languages is a K-8 immersion program with four language tracks. The school, which is the only one in the country with four languages, provides instruction in English, Japanese, Chinese, German and/or French. Spanish is introduced in middle school. Assistant Professor - Spanish / Coordinator of the Spanish for Heritage Speakers Program - University of North Carolina Wilmington
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish, to begin fall 2023. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 load, including the Spanish for Bilingual Speakers courses, courses in elementary and intermediate Spanish, and a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in the program’s curriculum. They will have the opportunity to develop and lead study abroad programs and teach additional courses in the summer. They will also serve as the coordinator of the Spanish for Heritage Speakers program, assisting heritage learners with course placement and colleagues with the differential instruction of heritage learners of languages other than English.
As UNCW is an R2 institution, the candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda. The successful candidate will also serve as a liaison to the Centro Hispano (https://uncw.edu/centrohispano/) at UNCW.

Spanish and Education/Coordinator of World Language Teacher Education - University of North Carolina Wilmington
