Spanish and Education/Coordinator of World Language Teacher Education - University of North Carolina Wilmington
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish, to begin fall 2023. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 load consisting of relevant undergraduate and graduate courses in both the Department of World Languages and Cultures and the Watson School of Education, specifically world language teaching methods courses required for licensure, and they will teach and supervise students in world language practicum courses required for licensure. The teaching load will include at least 1-2 courses per year at all levels of undergraduate Spanish language and/or upper-level undergraduate/graduate Spanish courses in their specialty.
As Coordinator of the World Language Teacher Education Program, the successful candidate will advise undergraduate students majoring in Spanish/French with teacher licensure and graduate students pursuing the MAT or MEd in Spanish. The successful candidate will serve as liaison to the UNCW Watson School of Education and the State of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

The Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University seeks an Outreach Program Coordinator to support its educational outreach initiatives. The Outreach Program Coordinator has responsibility for advancing knowledge and understanding of Latin America and the Caribbean through professional development workshops, discussion groups, film screenings, summer institutes, study tours, among others.
